The reef resort is located in the sleepy town of Xai-Xai, Mozambique’s Gaza province, which comes to life during the holiday seasons when most resorts in the region are full.
The Reef Resort offers comfortable, self-catering accommodation in spacious and airy 2 or 3 bedroom beach houses. All homes have their own covered parking leading to a deck overlooking the ocean and a children’s pool to enjoy sundowners, a braai area for outdoor cooking.
The Reef Resort’s fishing boat brings the wonderful daily catch of the rich ocean just meters from the spacious 60-seat, two-story restaurant. Fresh prawns, crayfish and squid and the abundant ‘pantry’ of seasonal subtropical fruits and vegetables, including home-grown herbs and vegetables, Café Pescador offers a unique dining experience.
There are plenty of beautiful beaches at Xai-Xai Beach, some with good swimming and snorkeling areas along the protective reef.
The Reef Resort is ideal for a family vacation and Xai-Xai Beach is an excellent fishing destination. With temperatures ranging between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius during the summer and 15 to 30 degrees Celsius during the winter, Mozambique can be considered a year-round holiday destination.
